Why is it important for children to learn how to manage their emotions?
Teaching children to manage their emotions equips them with essential skills for life:
• Better coping mechanisms: Helps them handle challenges and frustrations effectively.
• Improved communication: Enables positive interactions with peers, family, and teachers, fostering trust and deeper connections.
• Conflict resolution: Encourages constructive approaches to resolving disagreements.
• Enhanced problem-solving: Managing frustration allows for clearer thinking and creative solutions.
• Increased self-awareness: Helps children understand their emotions and identify triggers.
• Resilience: Prepares them to bounce back from setbacks and adapt to changes.
• Patience and positivity: Encourages a calm and optimistic mindset.
• Reduced behavioral issues: Decreases the likelihood of outbursts, aggression, or withdrawal.
• Confidence and self-worth: Gives children a sense of control over their reactions, boosting self-esteem.
Children will be grouped by age, starting from 7 to 12 years old, ensuring tailored and age-appropriate activities.
Our workshops provide a safe and supportive environment where children can explore their emotions openly:
• Schedule: Sessions will be held once a week, ensuring consistent learning and practice over time.
• Discussion & Activities: Guided conversations about both “light” and “heavy” emotions.
• Hands-On Learning: Fun and interactive activities to express feelings and experiences.
• Practical Tools: Techniques and strategies for managing emotions that children can apply in daily life.
The goal is to create a space where emotions are acknowledged and validated, encouraging growth and self-awareness in a positive way
At the end of each class, families are invited to join us for a few minutes, a time for children to share what they've learned and for parents to discover the tools and techniques we explored together
The workshop costs $120 and includes:
• 4 weekly sessions, each 1.5 hours long. ($30 each)
• A nurturing and engaging environment tailored to children’s emotional development.
Our workshops will be held at Luminart, an inspiring art studio located in the heart of Wellington:
